A company authorized by the Bank of Spain whose function is to create secondary markets by acting on its own in the money market. Its portfolio of assets is mainly made up of treasury bills and other very short-term instruments, and it refinances by taking funds from the interbank market or with lines of credit from private banks. They also carry out repurchase agreement (REPO) operations.
